Welcome

The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club serves amateur radio operators in southwest Virginia and North Carolina. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month at the Twin County hospital in Galax, VA at 7:30 PM unless otherwise stated on the calendar. 
The club operates the W4BRC repeater located on top of Briarpatch Mountain with a frequency of 147.090 + with no tone required. There is a weekly net utilizing this repeater every Tuesday night at 8:00PM.

Our next BARC meeting will be the club picnic on Saturday, October 12th. It will be at 4:00PM at the First Christian Church in Galax. (402 N Jefferson St.)

The November meeting will be at our regular meeting location at Twin County Regional Hospital on Novemer 21st at 7:30PM. 
On December 8th we will have our Christmas Diner at Porkey's in Galax at 6:00PM

January 23rd 2020, we will start meeting at our new location. 
We will begin meeting at the Carroll County Fire and Rescue Building (499 Floyd Pike, Hillsville, VA). 

Field Day 2019

Just a reminder that Field Day is Saturday June 21st-22nd. We will be at the usual spot at the Higher Ground Retreat Center. The camp is located near the 190 mile post on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The should be balloons or ribbons to mark the turn off. 

On Saturday: 

2PM - testing session, all license levels offered. 

2PM - contesting begins and runs through 2PM Sunday. 

4PM - Covered dish dinner. Bring your favorite dish to share and the club will provide drinks and paper products.
